I had lots of fun creating this card! I really hope you enjoy seeing how I created it.
Firstly I cut some 300gsm grey card stock and cut it at 4 1/4 inches by 11 1/2 inches and then scored it at 5 3/4 inches.
I then also cut some 300gsm Aqua fine smooth watercolour paper at 4 1/4 inches by 5 3/4 inches.
Once I had done that, I then used a pencil to draw in a curve at the bottom of my watercolour paper as a guide for where I would be cutting later so that I knew where to stamp.
I then took one of the adorable little elephant stamps from the Wplus9 stamp set 'unforgettable' and stamped it in 'pumice stone' distress ink.
I took my 'pumice stone' distress ink pad and pressed it onto my craft sheet.
Then using a wet fine tipped round paintbrush I picked up the ink and started to water colour the image.
Once I was happy with how the image looked, I then dried the image with my heat tool.
I then took the round balloon stamp from the Wplus9 stamp set 'A whole Lotta happy' and mounted it on an acrylic block.
For this next step I used 3 different colour distress inks, I used 'picked raspberry' 'salty ocean' and 'mustard seed'
I pressed just the edges of the balloon stamp onto the ink pad.
I then randomly stamped it in all 3 of the colours.
Using a wet paint brush, I pulled the ink from the outside edge into the center, this gave the balloons a 3D look.
The 2 darker colours didn't blend quite so easily, so I put some ink onto my craft sheet and used the paintbrush to add more colour where necessary.
I did this until I had done every balloon, being careful where the balloons overlapped not to let the ink bleed into each other.
I then used my heat tool to dry it.
Taking a black fine liner pen I then drew in a string on the balloon.
Repeating on each balloon, making sure to add interest by making each string slightly different, and making some of them go behind, and some go in front of the balloons.
I then used a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to apply a subtle shimmer to all of the yellow balloons.
Once I had done that I took the little cluster of stars stamp from the Wplus9 'unforgettable' stamp set and stamped it randomly in between the balloons.
I then used my scissors to cut out the curve I had drawn earlier. This could also be done using a number of different dies that are available, but i didn't have anything suitable so had to do it the old fashioned way :)
Using the 'hope your birthday is unforgettable' sentiment from the same stamp set, I stamped it onto the bottom of the grey card stock using versafine black onyx ink.
I then used a white jelly roll pen to draw in a faux stick underneath the curved edge of the water colour piece.
Finally I took my We R Memory Keeper corner chomper tool and rounded the top 2 corners of the card using the half inch setting.
And there we go, thanks for reading the whole post, I hope you found it helpful and interesting, I would love to hear what you think of it in the comments.
